Places to Visit

  • Pratapgadh Fort
    Pratapgad Fort is a mountain fort built by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The fort is at a distance of 24 km from the hill station of Mahabaleshwar. The fort holds a sturdy view of coastal Konkan. The Bhavani Temple and Afzal Khan’s tomb are other Places of Interest.
  • Bhawani Mandir
    The temple of Bhavani is on the eastern side of the lower fort. Outside the Bhavani temple is a leaden covering put up by the Satara Raja Pratapsinh.
  • Pratap Garden
    Dedicated to Maharana Pratap the valiant fighter, the garden is one of the few gardens in the Peth area. The garden has a nice play area and seats in the play area for parent to sit while supervision. The play area equipment is in very good shape and so is most of the garden.
  • Old Mahabaleshwar
    Situated 20 kms from Mahabaleshwar, Old Mahabaleshwar is laced with mouth-dropping scenaries and temples. This ancestral version of new Mahabaleshwar is a great venue for trekking which challenges every adventure enthusiast to trek up to 1372m high.
  • Panchganga Mandir
    Also known as the old mahabaleshwar temple to tourists, This is a unique and ancient old temple (mandir)known for a 5 different river mixture of holy water. The river named Krishna, savitri, venna, gayatri and koyna flowing closely in Mhabaleshwar mountains.
  • Shiva Mandir
    The shiv mandir (lord shiva temple) is the oldest of all temples that can be seen from its carving and cave looking dark zone inside. This spiritual temple is to bee seen when you are out for sightseeing. This temple is famous for its MAHALINGA which is rudrakha shaped and is said to be ‘self-bodied’, called ‘Swayambhoo’ in Sanskrit language.
  • Echo Point
    In the name of her beautiful daughter called ‘Kate’, Sir john malcom (a Britisher) named this point of Mahabaleshwar. Possibly she liked to come at this height of 1280 meter and Echo her voice back. Kates point is lively attracting every tourist and also called ‘Echo Point’ and a must place to see.
  • Hunting Point
    Hunter point is one of such attractions, which is situated with in the boundaries of the main town. At an altitude of 1290 meters, hunter point proffers the visitor with dazzling views of all the above.
  • Tiger Spring
    The listing of tiger spring in Mahabaleshwar attractions is very important, because as the name says its a small about 2 x 2 square meters natural spring water tank were Tigers comes to drink water during nights.
  • Savitri Point
    It is facinating to see the barren deep valley Savitri on the left & shallow green valley on the right. It is more facinating to know that Arthur’s seat is the only place showing geographical distinction of kokan & Desh (Deccan), two territories of Mahabaleshwar, so clear & so near.
  • Monkey Point
    Now, the mountain of Mahabaleshar has lots of things to say, some talks about Dinosaurs and some talk about the 3 monkeys of Mahatama gandhi. The guide says that if you see properly from the point towards the monkey point mountain, you can see a similar images of 3 monkey there. Lets enjoy and go ahead if or not able to make this out.
